Christ Episcopal School

At Christ Episcopal School (CES), we believe children thrive when they are known, supported, challenged, and encouraged to discover their unique strengths. From Preschool through 8th grade, our small classes (averaging just 10–12 students) create an engaging learning environment where students actively participate, ask questions, collaborate, and receive meaningful individual attention.

Our highly educated and dedicated teachers bring expertise, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to knowing every child. Rooted in our Episcopal values, CES is a caring and inclusive community where students are encouraged to respect others, serve their community, think critically, and grow into confident, compassionate individuals.

Student leadership and voice are an important part of the Christ Episcopal School experience. Throughout their years at CES, students have numerous opportunities to lead, speak publicly, collaborate, and share their ideas. Performance is also woven throughout the school experience, with opportunities for students of every age (including our youngest Preschoolers!) to perform, present, sing, act, and shine on stage. These experiences help students build confidence, communication skills, and the courage to step into the spotlight.

Our new year-round Preschool schedule offers families the convenience of an 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 pm day while providing an educational experience designed specifically for young learners. CES Preschool is much more than a daycare program. Our classrooms are led by early childhood educators who understand how young children learn best and use play-based exploration to build foundational skills across literacy, math, science, STEM, art, music, and more.

Our Preschool program nurtures the whole child, encouraging curiosity, creativity, independence, and a love of learning. Children have opportunities to explore their interests, build relationships, and develop the social-emotional skills essential for success in school and beyond.

With a dedicated focus on Kindergarten readiness, our PreK program builds the academic foundations and social confidence children need for a smooth, successful transition. By the time they enter Kindergarten, our students are not just prepared, they are truly ready to thrive.

By the time our students finish 8th grade, they are ready to take on the challenges of high school and have a strong character foundation that allows them to make good choices. Nighty-eight percent of our graduates are accepted into their top choice high school program. Recent acceptances include Georgetown Preparatory School, Gonzaga College High School, Holton-Arms School, and MCPS Magnet Programs such as the Global Ecology Magnet at Poolesville High School and the Science, Math, Computer Science Program at Montgomery Blair High School.

At Christ Episcopal School, education is about more than what happens at a desk. It is about creating a community where children feel valued, discover their voices, develop confidence, and are inspired to become thoughtful, engaged learners and leaders. From Preschool through 8th grade, we give students the foundation, opportunities, and support they need to thrive.
