Halloween is approaching and you still donโt know what to wear. Youโre up to your ears in homework, late night Target runs, your own work and the *occasional* pumpkin spice latte, and youโve only just realized that Halloween is 4 DAYS AWAY. If this is you, you are not alone. The holiday is supposed to be spooky but choosing a costume and dressing up – that part is supposed to be fun! Weโve got the whole family covered with a list of quick, cost-effective and easy last minute Halloween costume ideas:
1. Minion Costume
You’ll need a yellow t-shirt, denim overalls, two mason jar lids and a handful of black pipe cleaners.ย
- Wrap one pipe cleaner around the center of the two mason jar lids, tying them together.
- Tie two pipe cleaners on either side of the mason jar lids to secure them to your face, like glasses.
- Add some yellow face paint for extra wow factor!
2. Steve Jobs
A perfect costume for dad! Wear a black turtleneck sweater, a pair of blue jeans, tennis shoes and round rimmed glasses. Donโt forget the iPhone! Or opt for an actual Apple and get a few laughs.
3. The Statue of Liberty
You’ll need a blue/green sheet or cloth, a crown of the same color (or one you can spray paint), and a paper-towel roll that you can paint to look like a torch.
- Find an empty paper towel roll and paint it light blue.
- Stuff the top of the paper towel roll with orange and red wrapping paper, to create the effect of flames.
- Wrap and tie the sheet across your body.
- Finally, put on your crown!
4. Rosie the Riveter
Dress up as Rosie the Riveter and yell โWe can do itโ instead of โTrick or Treat!” Go full Canadian tuxedo with a denim button-up shirt and jeans. Tie your hair up in a bun and don an iconic red bandana. Try on a shade of bright red lipstick to complete the look.
5. Arthur
I donโt know about you, but we love Arthur over here. This easy last minute halloween costume only requires a yellow sweater, a collared white shirt underneath, glasses and jeans. If you happen to have a pair of aardvark ears around the house, you’re a DIY costume hero. Match with your friends and bring the whole crew dressed up as Arthur characters!ย
