Apples are a wonderful thing. Some people even say they “keep the doctor away.” While the latter may not be totally true, it is true that adding a little apple to something, without fail, makes it better. So ahead of National Apple Day on October 21, we’re highlighting one of the apple’s greatest creations: the apple cider doughnut. Our family has been obsessed with these fluffy, sweet treats since the first leaves stroked the ground this year. That’s why we put together a list of the best places to get apple cider doughnuts in the DMV!

District Doughnut is home to gourmet doughnuts scratch-made with vanilla bean yeast dough. The team are rolling out their fall flavors in mid September, featuring Apple Cider, Apple Batter, Apple Glaze and Cinnamon Sugar Dust. Locations at Eastern Market, The Wharf & Union Market, Washington, D.C.
