For more than 40 years, Washington Parent Media has been a trusted resource for parents in the Washington DC metro area. We have been serving parents in our local communities, offering expert advice, stories on parenting trends and issues, and a variety of ways for parents to enrich their experience raising their children.
We are members of the Parenting Media Association (PMA) and are held accountable for fostering high-quality standards in both our magazine and online content. PMA represents integrity with excellence in terms of circulation, demographics and editorial product.
Washington Parent is proud to have received ten honors in the 2024 Parenting Media Association (PMA) Awards from the Parenting Media Association, which judges editorial, design and general excellence in local and regional parenting publications. Most exciting is the Silver Award for General Excellence, in which judges praised our content as “relevant, imaginative and full of information … [with] sensible, as well as inspiring, narratives with attention to different ages and stages.” Also included are three Gold Editorial Awards, including for Overall Writing, where judges note Washington Parent’s “meaningful” mix of topics” and “straightforward, actionable articles and guides … helps the magazine live up to its mission as “the trusted source” for the parents it serves.”
Washington Parent also received a Gold and two Bronze Design Awards thanks to our talented designer Meredith Hancock. These awards reflect Washington Parent’s 40+ years of serving parents across the DMV with education, support and resources, and the trust you put in us in all parenting journeys.
