Who We Are

For more than two decades, The Theatre Lab has provided award-winning theatre training. If you're looking for a summer experience you'll never forget, we invite you to get in on the act! We offer serious theatre training for all school-aged children, taught by experienced teachers and theatre professionals, in a unique environment that's friendly, supportive, and incredibly fun.

The Theatre Lab's summer camps for kids entering grades 1-5 are fun, high-energy programs for young people to engage their imaginations as they experience the thrill of creating live theatre. Campers participate in improvisation, scene study, storytelling, and more in exercises that spark creativity, promote self-confidence, and encourage ensemble spirit. At the end of each two-week session, students present their work in a free sharing open to the public. We are also offering one-week sessions focusing on improv at the beginning and end of summer to accommodate different school schedules.

Our tween students entering grades 6-8 will have the two one-week improv sessions and two expanded four-week sessions that end in a fully produced performance. Our always popular Musical Theatre Camp for Tweens is open to first-time performers as well as experienced singers and actors. There is training in improv, scene study and movement along with rehearsal and performance. There's even technical training, on costumes and scenery. The second four-week session offer a non-musical theatre performance experience that gives students the tools to create and perform an original work based on their own lives. Using improvisation, storytelling, character development, and playwriting, students will create a script that they will premiere with a full production.

Teen students joining us for the summer can choose from our acting and musical theatre institutes. The two musical institute sessions enable young artists to explore challenging, contemporary musical theatre as they receive the intensive voice, movement and acting training essential for professional-level performance. The acting institute immerses young adults in the art of acting. The curriculum includes audition seminars, improvisational workshops, voice, speech and movement training, and scene study.

What Others Say

I liked that each child was free to be themselves. The camp fostered a safe and fun learning environment that allowed the children to explore the world of acting. My daughter can't stop talking about it. --Parent, Summer Acting Camp for Kids

My exact words to my husband at the end of the show was 'Holy cow, that was the most talented group of young people I've ever had the pleasure of watching.' Seriously, every player was showcased and every single person in the cast made an impact.--Parent, Musical Theatre Institute
