Always Remember to PAWS and THINK!

Local author Miranda Mittleman teaches valuable life lessons as seen through the eyes of her rescue dog, Weaver, in her children's book series, "Paws and Think!" All three books in her series have received the Mom's Choice Awards Gold Medal for Children's picture books. Mittleman has created a Charity of the Quarter program to benefit non-profit organizations in the community. Her current charity is Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) and the launch party will be held August 11th at Greetings & Readings in the Hunt Valley Towne Center. Her books are available online wherever books are sold.

Project Sweet Peas

Project Sweet Peas is a national non-profit organization that acknowledges the importance of parental involvement in caregiving and decision-making in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and seeks to promote family-centered care (FCC) competencies in hospitals nationwide. Care packages, hospital events, peer-to-peer support, financial aid, educational materials and other Project Sweet Peas services support the cultural, spiritual, emotional and financial needs of families as they endure life in the NICU.

Sensory Bounce Therapy Launching in Silver Spring, MD

It's called Sensory Bounce Therapy and it's changing the ground rules for developing skills in special needs children. Sensory Bounce Therapy combines the stimulating, kid-friendly environment of an indoor inflatable bounce facility with the expertise of an occupational therapist. The program helps children with autistic spectrum disorders, ADHD and any motor or social difficulties develop sensory processing, gross motor and social skills.
