Bethesda Big Train

Building a Stronger Community for 20 years! The Bethesda Big Train baseball team came to fruition through the passion and charitable work of the Bethesda Community Baseball Club. A summer collegiate baseball team, the Big Train delights fans and aspires to be role models for the region's younger generation, showing them that they can play baseball at a  high level by putting their college studies first. The club participates in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League and gives local fans plenty to cheer about while enjoying family fun out this summer. The Bethesda Big Train offers camps and picnic parties too.

Baseball Americana at the Library of Congress

A new yearlong exhibition, "Baseball Americana," opens June 29 at the Library of Congress, exploring baseball's past and present for fans of all ages. The exhibition features historical images, baseball cards, a baseball card themed photo station, a touch-and-feel wall with old and new baseball equipment, interactive trivia spinners and even Babe Ruth's shoes. Visitors will see how baseball has created community for generations.

City of Gaithersburg's SummerFest

The City of Gaithersburg's 2nd Annual SummerFest event being held June 30th from 5:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m. will draw an entire community to the grounds of Bohrer Park for an evening of non-stop entertainment. This one-day event includes live music, food, craft beer, giant inflatables, captivating entertainers, giveaways and fun activity areas for all ages and interests. Of course, no Independence Day celebration would be complete without a spectacular fireworks display, and the lively SummerGlo After-Party.
