Northern Virginia Christmas Market

It’s Northern Virginia’s grand opening celebration of the holiday season! The Christmas Market returns to the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. More than 250 artisans from more than 25 states will offer a diverse selection of fine arts, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, wood, photography, fiber arts, as well as thousands of one-of-a-kind Christmas collectibles. Over 20 “Taste of the Holidays” food vendors will offer gift-packaged gourmet fare. These tasty homemade goodies are ideal for creating gift baskets, loading up Santa’s stockings and gathering those hard-to-find executive gifts. Friday & Saturday, November 10–12, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.–5 p.m. $8.00 for adults (children under 12 free).

The Siena School

The new 16,000-square-foot wing, completed this fall, has an expansive music room/theater, science labs, locker rooms and classrooms. Their spacious new wing will enable their academic program to continue to grow and thrive. The school is inviting area professionals to come visit the new wing. Join them to see first-hand how their new spaces nurture students' strengths, while meeting their needs for engaging multi-sensory curriculum.

Kids Pajama Jam Party at Strathmore

Get ready to ring in the holidays with a special festive Pajama Jam on Sunday, November 29 at 5:30 p.m. Described as “the best-sounding band in children’s music” by NPR’s “All Things Considered,” three-time Grammy nominee “Brady Rymer and The Little Band That Could” will shake, dance and groove their way through classic holiday favorites. Their rootsy, accordion-laced style is energetic and spirited, and will provide the perfect soundtrack for your holiday. Tickets are $12. Children 1 year old and under are free, but require a ticket.

Kids Euro Festival

One of the country's largest performing arts festivals for children, the festival has more than 125 free events around the city. The event is geared to kids ages 2–12 and will feature artists in almost every performing genre. Kids Euro Festival takes place October 21–November 5 and is staged through the cooperation of the 28 Washington-based European Union embassies and 30 major local cultural institutions. Grandma’s Thanksgiving Visit

Grandma has arrived for the holiday – and that can only mean making puppets, cooking together and learning lots of fun new things! This interactive musical play with a great big heart brings the whole audience into the family with singing, fingerplay and call-and-response as we all give thanks for being together. Recommended for ages 3–7. November 15–17 and November 21 at 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at the Smithsonian's Discovery Theater – Ripley Center. Child $6, child under 2 $3 and adult $8.
