Halloween Hauntings at the Zoo

With more than 40 treat stations, animal demonstrations, keeper chats and decorated trails, Boo at the Zoo, sponsored by Mars Chocolate North America, is a frightfully fun evening for the whole family. October 20, 21 and 22 at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo.

Putt Putt for Charity

Sunday, October 29, 12–4 p.m. Follow the yellow brick road to ATMTC Academy for a “hole lot of fun” swinging clubs through a mini golf course in our studios. Best of all: All the proceeds from this fundraiser go towards D.C. area kids! Activities include an 18-hole mini golf course, a costume contest, prize contests, fun giveaways and more!

School and Child Care Fair

DC school HUB, the one-stop website for parents seeking child care, preschool and private school options, is hosting the DC school HUB Preschool and Private School Fair on Saturday, October 14 from 9–11 a.m. at Norbeck Country Club. The fair will feature dozens of the DMV's top schools, education experts, prizes and more. The event is FREE to the public.

Festival of Flavors in Sterling

October 7, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. rain or shine. Sterling Community Center, 120 Enterprise St. Sterling, VA Enjoy diverse food options such as Southern Fish Fry, Peruvian and Lebanese cuisine, Captain Cookie and the Milkman and international cuisine from A Taste of the World Restaurant. Two bands will perform on the main stage and local businesses and craft entrepreneurs will showcase their creations. Food Fair and Frolic in Bethesda

Taste of Bethesda returns Saturday, October 7 from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. and will bring nearly 50 restaurants and five stages of entertainment to Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle. Taste of Bethesda is located on Norfolk, St. Elmo, Cordell, Del Ray and Auburn Avenues, three blocks from the Bethesda Metro. Admission is free. Tickets will be sold on-site to “taste” different foods. Produced by the Bethesda Urban Partnership, downtown Bethesda’s famous food and music festival celebrates 28 years of diverse and delectable cuisine offered by Bethesda’s local restaurant community.
