Classes by Bouncing Bambini

every mama feeling strong! Exercises are tailored for each stage of pregnancy and postpartum recovery so you can work at your own pace and ability. This class will combine strength and cardio endurance exercises to give a complete body workout. Non-mobile babies are welcome in class too! Classes are weekday mornings, evenings and Saturdays in Bethesda and Silver Spring.

National Book Festival

The National Book Festival is a celebration of the joy of books and reading sponsored by the Library of Congress, and gives attendees the opportunity to visit with more than 175 award-winning authors, illustrators and poets who will talk about and sign their books. In addition to author talks, book-signings and children’s activities, the event will include a panel discussion with experts and film-industry figures, and a screening of a classic movie that was made from a classic book. FREE. Event held Saturday, September 2, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at The Washington Convention Center.

How I Became A Pirate

Adventure Theatre MTC Sep. 22 – Oct. 22 It’s a pirate’s life for me! One day as Jeremy builds a sand castle on the beach, a pirate ship rows ashore in search of a place to bury treasure. Taken aboard as honorary crew, Jeremy learns the ropes of what it really means to be a swashbuckling pirate. Recommended for all ages.

Occoquan Arts and Crafts Show

During the weekend of September 23 and 24, Occoquan will host over 300 contemporary and country crafters and artisans from Occoquan and all around the United States. More than 10,000 people will attend for fun, food and shopping! Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. | Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Free.

Story Time at the National Postal Museum

The Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum invites adults and young children to discover the world around them together at Story Time! Children will build important developmental and social skills through books, activities, songs and self-guided gallery exploration. Explore themes such as shapes, colors and sizes in a relaxed setting at your neighborhood museum. Bring snacks and enjoy the space after the program. The half-hour event is held every Monday through December at 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. FREE.
